Mid-Century Re-Modern

We completed a collaborative project with our clients that was inspired by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s style of organic architecture. We worked together to design a sweeping house remodel to complement the home’s unique position on Sweeney Lake. The build required a careful balance between old and new with minimalist design and subtle modern elements. The existing house had slate tile floors, which were extracted and repurposed in the main hallway. We polished the concrete basement floors by client request, and added in-floor heating. We also emphasized windows and glass for the side of the house facing the lake to maximize sunlight.
