An empty nest couple requested a complete teardown and rebuild of their rambler style house situated on Turtle Lake. The lake was the inspiration for the build, and we designed everything from the walk-out screened porch to the covered veranda overlooking the lake with this in mind. We added windows on the lakeside of the home ensuring that both sunrise and sunset can be viewed from inside and out. Together with our clients, we built a forever home that was low-maintenance and handicap accessible. The home was minimalistic and rustic, with muted, traditional styles and a large emphasis on wood finishing. The couple requested an ‘old-school’ style with modern additions, such as in-floor heating throughout the entire home.
